$20 Walmart Trip - Saved 57%

Tonight I ran into Walmart to do a few quick price matches before sale ads were over tomorrow. I tried to shop at Harp's and Allen's and every item I was looking for had been swiped from the shelves! I do love Walmart's new policy though - I saved the same amount of money and there was plenty of stock. Normally I only buy BBQ Sauce if it's free but since I actually just used my last bottle of free sauce I got here and Sweet Baby Ray's is my all.time.favorite. I didn't mind spending $0.49 a bottle. I also found Hebrew National Hot Dogs on sale for $2.49 and I had a $1/1 coupon from the mail making them just $1.49 - yes and thank you! I was heading to buy Activia and saw these 8 packs. The 4 packs are $2 and the 8 pack was $2.71 - that makes each cup of yogurt only $0.34!. My boys love Activia more than I could describe and will be THRILLED when they wake up in the morning!

I normally do not buy cokes but I have a friend coming into town tomorrow and Diet Cokes are her love language :). I was so excited to see a Family Dollar ad in my mailbox today advertising them at $2.50! That is an awesome price for coke products and it was an easy price match while I was in Walmart. Here's my breakdown:

Here are the best deals at Walgren's this week.I have highlighted my favorite deals in red and have a beginner's scenario at the bottom to get you started.

Remember these things when you are shopping at Walgreens:

1)Always hand over the manufacturers coupons first when using a store and manufacturer coupon. After the manufacturer coupon is scanned, THEN hand over the Walgreens coupons (this will make it so their register doesn’t beep and will allow for overage if applicable.)


2) You can only use one manufacturer coupon or register reward per item purchased (walgreens coupons dont count). Try and find a clearanced item or something cheap with in ad coupon as a filler if needing to use several coupons or register rewards to pay.


3) Many items are free after Register Reward or RR. A Register Reward is printed AFTER you checkout with the particular item and can be used like Walgreens money in store. Two things to remember about Register Rewards: A) They are read like a coupon in the register so make sure you have more than one item if using a register reward and manufacturer coupon for an item. B) If you use a register reward to pay for the same item you received the register reward for, it will NOT print again. You can alternate with other register reward items and it will print fine.


4) If they are out of an item you are shopping for, get a rain check!

Each of us can help in some way.

Several of you asked how you can help and while I'm sure there are many more ways, here are a few I have found:

4 - For those of us in Arkansas, Laura left me this message: I heard on the news last night that all Old Navy stores in Arkansas are serving as a drop-off point for donations to Joplin, MO. If you make a donation some (if not all) stores will also give you a coupon for 10% off!

Also, please continue to pray for these people. Most are mourning loss of loved ones and many have loved ones that are still missing. I think the last count was around 232 people that are still not accounted for. God knows where they are and I pray that closure or reunion is in store for everyone involved.
